It was very tiring to go through the same route again and again just to see if you have missed a collectable or an upgrade for your weapon. I hated how poor the travelling between maps/levels were set in place. Distracting from the hurried experience of slicing through hordes of enemies. The collectables and the power upgrades feel very awkwardly placed. There is no proper introduction to the world or the character Strider Hiryu, nor anything about the motivation of the character.
The biggest issue with the game is the lackadaisical story. I was hoping for it to be amazing, but it sadly isn't.
I only know this guy from Arcade games as a kid. But the game has an unimaginative Story yet its backed by an enjoyable combat and character movement experience.
